A Family Goes Job Hunting,就活家族

This is a heart-warming story about a once functional family that becomes dysfunctional when all family members simultaneously find themselves looking for a new job, and they all struggle to once again search for hope and a new path.

It nudges the audience lightly yet seriously “What is a job?”,  “What does it mean to work?” and “What is life?”

Yosuke is a successful executive at a major steel company.  His wife is a respected schoolteacher, his son a job-hunting college student, and his daughter works for a jeweler.  They have just bought their dream house, Yosuke is up for a promotion, and the future looks bright.

However, Yosuke is forced to leave the company because of a gossip set in motion by his colleague. He pretends to go to work every morning not daring to tell his family the truth.  And he has no idea that his wife who harbors a secret and his daughter who becomes romantically involved with a playboy are also facing problems at work.  “Even if I lose my job, my family can support me” they think, and they quit.  In the meantime, his son is being set up by a con-man posing to be a job consultant.

The family loses all their sources of income and faces losing their new house and each other, too.  Every member starts to job-hunt and their respective situations only work to pull them apart.  The family struggles to find new jobs, understand each other, and hopefully stay together as a family.
