DRAMA The Kidnapping Day (Japan ver) 誘拐の日©ASTORY & KT Studiogenie/tv asahi Masamune Shinjo plans to kidnap Rin Nanase, the daughter of a wealthy hospital director, to secure funds for his daughter’s heart surgery. As Shinjo hesitantly approaches the director’s house, a young girl suddenly darts out in front of his car. He narrowly avoids hitting her, but the girl collapses unconscious on the spot. Shinjo rushes over and is shocked to find out that the girl was Rin! The kidnapping went off unexpectedly smoothly, but when Rin regains consciousness, her memory is lost. On impulse, Shinjo lies that he is her father and is forced to play the role of her “dad.” Soon after, Rin’s real parents are murdered by someone. Shinjo suddenly becomes the prime suspect, and unless he can unravel the mystery behind the crime, he will be in a hopeless situation. Moreover, Rin turns out to be a genius child—fluent in multiple languages, knowledgeable, and quick-witted. Before long, the dynamic between them reverses; while Shinjo bumbles his way through the ordeal, Rin gives him sharp advice on how to navigate the situation. Thus begins the unusual escape story of the bumbling kidnapper Shinjo and the brilliant young girl Rin! Cast
