A passionate mid-career detective; a team of prosecutors with some of the best brains in Japan; and a self-satisfied judge: These three with completely different educational backgrounds, statuses, incomes, qualifications, and investigative policies, who would usually never cross paths with one another, begin to interact with one another through a single case.
The passionate detective, Gota Nakaido, is someone whose investigative skills are based on his own legworks and his guts instinct as well as the contact he has with local residents; the prosecutors' team claims that "the law is everything when judging people, and life experience and human feelings have nothing to do with it".
This is a human drama which follows Gota and the people surrounding him through various crime cases while depicting the complicated legal system.
