“Everyone has both Jekyll and Hyde within them.” Hikari, “an angel-like detective” who never doubts anyone and Ryusuke, “a devil-like brilliant lawyer” who believes in no one are dispatched to a new unit called “Cold Case Anonymous Negotiator Unit” at Tokyo MPD with a strictly confidential mission. It is to solve cold cases using “plea-bargaining”, a legal system yet to be introduced in Japan.
One way of plea-bargaining is to mitigate one’s sentence by informing on the main culprit. And the hidden purpose of their unit is to prove the validity of this system. By making full use of this hitherto ‘forbidden method’, the two track down the ultimate mastermind behind a case.
